Here are a couple of recipes to try with this tasty Glaze.
Prissy’s Sweet Bourbon Glaze Kabobs
1 cup Prissy’s Sweet Bourbon Glaze
4 boneless, skinless chicken breast or beef tenderloins cut into 1 ½ inch pieces
2 cups assorted vegetable, such as cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms
Arrange chicken and vegetables on 8 ( 8 inch) skewers that were soaked in cold water.
Place in a 9 X 13 inch baking dish. Pour the Glaze over the kabobs.
Refrigerate, covered for 30 minutes to overnight.
Cook on grill over medium heat 10-15 minutes or to taste.
Serve over rice.
Serves about 4
Sweet and Hot Sausage Meatballs
1 pound bulk hot pork sausage
1 egg beaten
½ cup dry bread crumbs
¾ cup ketchup
¾ cup Prissy’s Sweet Bourbon Glaze
In a bowl, combine sausage, egg and bread crumbs, mix well.
Shape into 1 inch balls. Brown meatballs in a skillet, drain.
Combine the ketchup and Bourbon Glaze and pour over the meatballs.
Simmer for 15-30 minutes or until meat is no longer pink.
Yields about 2 dozen
Sweet Potato Casserole
6 medium sweet potatoes
1 bottle Prissy’s Sweet Bourbon Glaze
½ bag miniature marshmallows
Cut sweet potatoes to desired size and place in a 9 X 13 inch baking dish.
Pour the Glaze over the potatoes and stir.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 325 degrees for one hour or until tender.
Stir potatoes after ½ hour.
Remove aluminum foil and top with marshmallows for the last 10 minutes.
Serves 6-8
Instant Apple Raisin Chutney
2 cups apples, chopped small
½ cup onions, chopped small
¼ cup raisins
¼ cup pecan pieces
1 cup Prissy’s Sweet Bourbon Glaze
For a cool crisp chutney,
Mix all ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
For a piping hot chutney, heat all ingredients in a medium saucepan until desired consistency.
Serve with pork or fish.
Yields about 10 servings.
